Jen, Jeff and Mallery
I remember Jen when puberty happened. I remember the tears I shed when she told me she had to move away when we were in high school. I remember the joy in her voice when she told me she fell in love with a guy named Jeff. I remember excitement with a dash of fear I heard over the phone when she told me she was pregnant. And I will always remember the look of exhilarating joy and deep, real and pure love that I saw in her eyes as she gazed at her two week old baby Mallery.
This shoot was incredibly amazing for so many reasons. First and foremost because Jen has been my good friend since 3rd grade. And that is a real blessing having someone who knows so much about you. The other reason is because I haven’t been around a newborn for almost a year…and there is something really beautiful, touching and miraculous about being around a newborn. They are just so fresh from the arms of God. I hope I get the honor of doing more photo shoots with newborns in the new year.

Brought tears to my eyes (and I’m not a crier) Congratulations to Jen and family! I also love the baby on the shelf- very creative and cute. And the last one of Mallery in the blanket is precious.
